The 33” Holy Toledo is suited to teenage to adult surfers 5”4’ – 5”10’ (162cm – 177cm) in height. The 33” Holy Toledo is the original signature model of World Top 3 surfer Filipe Toledo. The 33” has a shallow concave and is suited to surfers who wish to pump and generate speed on flat sections. The 33” Toledo is also considered the step up board from the 32” Flying Fish, as it shares the same concave profile but has more width, length, and wheelbase.

The model name "Holy Toledo" was inspired by Filipe's nickname when he was 16 years of age - a result of his radical and progressive surfing style. Toledo loved the looseness of the 32" Flying Fish, but needed a bit more drive so a design was created extending all the measurements.

What's the difference between the 32.5" Johanne Defay and the 33" Holy Toledo models?

The main difference is that the Johanne Defay 32.5" has more concave in the deck and the 33" Holy Toledo has a flatter deck. The more concave is better for rail to rail turns and you can also perform deeper carving turns.

Why doesn't Felipe Toledo ride his 33" signature model anymore?

The 33" Signature model was created when Felipe was 17 years of age. Since then, he has got bigger and stronger. He needed a bigger SmoothStar to reflect his surfing as he was overpowering the 33" model.

Why doesn't the 33" Toledo deck have very little concave?

The 33" Toledo deck has little concave because that is the way that Felipe Toledo liked it. He is more of a front foot surfer, and typically the less concave a board has, the faster you can go down the line. The flatter deck does however, reduce the rail to rail movement in deep carves.
