The mitten version is ideal if you need an extra warm glove, and it's sewn in hardwearing treated cowhide* with a pre-curved fit for comfort and good pole grip. The inside is in soft fleece with warming synthetic insulation, while foam panels provide extra warmth and stability. Technical details contribute to practical functionality on the mountain. For example, there is a wrist strap to reduce the risk of dropping a glove if you need to take it off. And an included carabiner enables the gloves to be secured to a jacket or backpack when not in use. Fingertips and palm are reinforced with PU-coated synthetic fabric for extra strength and good grip. The liner is made of polyester fleece with warm synthetic insulation. It builds upon the same robust concept as Hestra's Heli Ski model, but is designed to be worn under the jacket sleave with a comfortable neoprene collar that encircles the wrist. Fingers and palm are made ofimpregnated goat leather with outseams that provide comfort and a sensitive grip, while the backhand is made with flexible and weather resistant softshell fabric. A fleece liner with synthetic insulation keeps fingers warm even in low temperatures, and can easily be removed to wash or dry. You can also replace the insulation with a thinner liner to adjust the warmth if you are hiking and sweating more, for example. A wrist strap reduces the chance of dropping the glove if you take it off to adjust your equipment.
