The Marana upper was so tough that Etnies decided to ask Michelin to design an outsole that would last just as long using tire rubber. What Michelin came up with was an outsole that used a specialized outdoor tire compound with a race rally tire tread. Together, the Michelin outsole and the durable upper of the Marana make the Marana one of the toughest shoes in skateboarding.
