After winning four consecutive Good Wood Awards, the Hel YES. has anchored itself as one of the industry’s top standards for women’s freeriding. A directional twin layout, UnderBite outline, sintered base and a bamboo stringer core has allowed Helen to carry her unique mark on women’s snowboarding. Guillaume Rousseaux made the artwork : “The wolf & the lamb : Do you still think that the reason of the strongest is always the best ? Drop the masks and find your path.”

The Hello was built in response to a growing demand for a true resort board. Using the same outline as the Hel YES., this new model shares the edge hold and carving ability of UnderBite to deliver performance on the groomers, side hits and in the park. The direc- tional twin shape allows it to float shamelessly through powder and chatter, making it a true quiver killer. Mark Kowalchuk designed this board : “ The hello this year is inspired by contemporary abstract art. The idea was that it would be like mixed media of cut paper and paint collage. There are some inspirations of de- sert shapes and California vibes throughout. ”

Tapered UnderBite delivers the directional drive and float of a tapered board without compromising edge hold or the ability to power out of turns that plaques most tapered boards. The PYL does all this in a more traditional width/length board. The Weightless core, natural dampening and snap provided by the Ash Veneer brings a refined, high-performance feel to this innovative, award-winning design.

This year we partnered up with our good friends at PYZEL surfboards to build an all-mountain performance board. This board is the only board you’ll need all winter long, it has a tapered MidBite outline and some slamback inserts for those big powder days. Its twin construction makes it a true freestyle board when you’re riding the park or pipe. This board is like riding pipeline alone, it’s a dream.

But this one comes true.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD

The Rival was developed by Juliette Pelchat @jubespelchat for women who charge and want a board that performs to the best of their ability. Juliette rides the 149. The versati- lity of the MidBite profile makes this board the perfect board for riders that want stability and response when they ride. The art was made by Crystal Legoffe @not. enough. ram a Whistler local that also rides YES. boards. She worked closely with Juliette while building this graphic. The art this year for the rival is tattoo inspired with a nod to the renewal of 90s grunge fashion—so- mething I’m personally happy about! Juliette and I wanted to keep the design playful but make it seem more like the cool older sister of the previous rival. ( Maybe just like her? ) we hope you like it and are inspired to get a cool tattoo or do something rad!

Every year we found ourselves getting custom made “team-spec” boards for riders that loved the Basic but wanted a faster base and just a little more snap to the flex. The Typo is exactly that. For the dedicated resort rat and upcoming pro in all of us. Guillaume Rousseaux designed the board.

The Army Leather Extreme is one of Hestra's warmest models, designed for severe cold and really tough weather. It has the same hardwearing outer as Hestra's other Army Leather models but extra strong high-function G-Loft insolation. Perfect in cold winter climates and for lower levels of activity, e.g. dog sledding, or snowmobile riding over long distances. The liner is removable and easy to dry or wash. Or replace with a thinner lining if the temperature or activity levels rise. The microfleece liner is comfortable against the skin, and the synthetic insulation adds warmth and wicks away moisture. The model is designed to perform reliably with a high cuff that shuts out snow and cold. The snowlock is easily adjusted with one hand, as is the wrist width. A favourite with skiers, adventurers and other open-air professionals who spend long days outdoors in severe cold.

The Army Leather GORE-TEX is a warm mitten for skiing in tough weather conditions. The mitten version provides plenty of space for insulating air, ideal if you are prone to cold fingers. Sewn in hardwearing goatskin leather and polyamide fabric with pre-bent fingers for comfort and good pole grip. The model comes out a favourite in tests thanks to its sound design and well-thought-out details. A high cuff with snowlock is perfect when skiing in powder, while a wrist strap reduces the risk of losing a glove in a sudden gust of wind. A reliable, practical companion on ski tours and adventures in high alpine terrain. Perfect when you're doing a lot of uphill and need a protective glove with high breathability.
