Lahaina Sailor is collected and worn proudly around the world. Originally introduced in 1968, this design was inspired by the bandanas worn by sailors visiting the isles, and incorporates Hawaii's state flower (hibiscus), bird (nene), tree (kukui), and flag. There’s legendary history and Hawaiian heritage stitched into every Reyn Spooner garment. Created in 1961, the story of Reyn Spooner began when someone showed him an inside-out shirt sewn by a local bartender/surfer in Hawaii. By combining the inside-out method with his own eye for more sophisticated prints and paired it with the classic tailoring of an oxford cloth shirt. Combining surfer “cool” with Ivy League traditionalism.

This handsome design captures the story of the Hawaiian luau. Traditionally held to commemorate a significant life event or achievement, the artwork illustrates the preparation which includes catching fish with nets (hukilau), roasting the pig and vegetables in the underground pit oven (imu), and pounding poi. After all the preparation is complete, the event is celebrated with abundant food, gathering of family and friends, music and hula dancing.

TRANS PACIFIC 40'S TAILORED FIT BUTTON FRONT

One of our most iconic prints where the romance of Hawaii is rendered in the style of vintage poster art.

The 40's was the golden age of aviation and nothing held the imagination more captive then the ultra luxury trans-Pacific Clippers. They were giant flying boats with fixed wings and massive hulls that allowed for long distance travel and landing on water. The Clippers enabled the first trans-ocean passenger service and ushered a new era for Hawaii tourism.
